I’m trying to decide whether to book a guided yacht tour in the Seychelles or plan my own self-guided itinerary. Guided tours sound convenient since everything is organized, but I worry about being stuck in a fixed schedule. On the other hand, planning my own route could give me more freedom, but it also seems like more stress. Has anyone tried both approaches and can share what worked best?

I’ve done both, and it really depends on what kind of experience you want. Guided tours are great for stress-free travel and often include extra perks, while self-planned trips give more flexibility. For my last trip, I went self-planned with a boat charter in Seychelles, which allowed me to organize water sports activities, hidden lagoon discovery, and custom travel routes. Having that control made the trip feel truly unique, but the key is doing enough research to ensure safety and realistic schedules.
